A mid-engined, high-performance sports car from SSC North America, also known as Shelby Super Cars, is the SSC Ultimate Aero. The fastest car in production in the world, this American-built sports car once made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. This honor was previously held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport before Aero.
It needed to reach an astounding speed of 256.19 miles per hour (412.29 kilometers per hour) to beat Bugatti's record. However, according to SSC experts, their enhanced "Aero" models can easily surpass their own record-breaking top speed of 270 miles per hour. Jerod Shelby founded the SSC and also came up with the concept of Aero.
He began by employing his creative skills to create copies of expensive sports cars. For about $650,000, which is a heavy sum indeed, you may get the Ultimate Aero, which is still being produced.
Exterior
The car's design was significantly influenced by Jerod Shelby. The car has a two-seater Berlinetta body design and, as a result of its features, is classified as a sports vehicle. Berlinetta is merely a coupe variation with a sporting design.
It has rear-wheel drive and a mid-rear engine. If you examine its outside, you'll see that its body contains a significant amount of carbon fiber and other composite materials.
This provides the speedy car a body suitable for a super-strong one. The primary component of the underbody frame, also known as the space frame, is reinforced steel. The car measures 176.2 inches in length, 82.7 inches in width, and 43 inches in height.
There are around 4.0 inches of ground clearance. The car has "Michelin Pilot Sport PS2" tires, which are extremely durable. Aero weighs a total of roughly 2,750 pounds. 42 percent of the weight is in the front and 58 percent is in the back.
Interior
Two Custom Recaro seats can be found inside this sports automobile. These seats are each around 19 inches wide. There are approximately 38.5 inches of headroom and 47.0 inches of legroom. These seats can have their elevation changed by up to 25 degrees.
A specially constructed speedometer with a maximum reading of 260 miles per hour and a tachometer with a maximum reading of 8000 revolutions per minute is located on the dashboard. It also includes an oil pressure gauge, voltmeter, fuel lever, horsepower gauge, and sequential shift lights.
It has a reliable all-weather air conditioning system to make its passengers as comfortable as possible. The car's powerful 10-speaker audio system provides unrivaled musical enjoyment. If simply listening to music isn't enough for you, no worries—the automobile also comes with a 7.5-inch DVD screen. Some of its primary luxury features are an excellent navigation system, an automatic backup camera, etc.
Performance and Speed
The SSC Ultimate Aero is capable of producing a staggering top speed of 256.14 miles per hour. It has a tremendous power output of 1183 bhp and a huge torque output of 1483 Nm. In addition, SSC North America asserts that its supercar has a drag coefficient of just 0.357, which is extremely low. From 0 to 60 mph, the supercar accelerates in under 2.78 seconds.
On March 21, 2007, a 12-mile (19-kilometer) stretch of U.S. Route 93 in Nevada was shut down to test the Ultimate Aero TT's top speed. But because of the adverse weather, the test was unsuccessful.
On September 13, 2007, at West Richland, Washington, SSC North America succeeded in winning the title of the fastest production car. The car was operated by Rick Doria in both directions. It indicates that the track was 24 miles long in all. The maximum speed is the average of the top two runs' speeds. The first and second runs were completed at speeds of 257.41 mph and 254.86 mph, respectively. So, 256.14 mph was determined to be the top speed.
Engine
The hypercar is propelled by a massive 1287 horsepower @6950 RPM on normal gasoline from a Chevrolet Corvette C5R V8 engine assisted by two turbochargers. The top speed of the SSC Aero is 256 miles per hour.
